First Attempt
Project Protect Pages (PPP) is designed to minimize the damage of books during transportation. The initial attempt was made using sandblasted sheet aluminum. This material created a very sturdy product, but was also very heavy desipite having holes cutout meant to reduce its wieght. Along with its large sizes, these two factors made PPP seem bulky and made it difficult to use. The project was also my first attempt at welding, and the result was not amazing.
Second Attempt
To make PPP less bulky, I used fabric as the material. Fabric is much lighter than aluminum, and can also collapse into a much smaller size when not being used.
