The Granville Island Pedestrian Bridge transports people between a bustling city, a beautiful waterfront, and a tourist hub with a rich industrial history. The bridge stands above tide fluctuations allowing those in smaller boats to easily pass underneath, while larger vessels can travel through the folding section. Offering a great view of the passing boats as well as a view of the ocean, the bridge encourages people to reconnect with and enjoy the waterfront while also acting to connect Yaletown to the pedestrian-focused Granville Island tourist hub. The exposed cables and bright red HSS references the area's history of metalwork and fits in with the existing design language.
